Description:
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting the physician with clerical duties, patient flow, patient care, and procedures. Full-time position, hours vary from 30-35 per week.
Full-time Hourly Position to start ASAP (4 days per week)
Pay: $20 - $24 hourly
Essential Job Functions:
- Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room.
- Perform preliminary physical tests: take blood pressure, weight and report patient history summary.
- Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding all medical records, and completing diagnostic procedure coding.
- Uses recognized and accurate medical terminology and abbreviations for all medical documentation.
- Collects, labels, and sends specimens with appropriate laboratory slips and/or requisitions.
- Assists physician with in-office procedures limited to set up and breakdown of simple sterile procedures. Draping and prepping patients under the direction of a licensed physician.
- Performs cleaning/decontamination of equipment/materials and instruments.
- Checks inventories, restocks and replaces patient equipment and supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification required.
- 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient setting (OBGYN preferred)
- Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required
- Basic proficiency in computer use, required
- Bilingual preferred.
