Novant Health Ballantyne Pediatrics is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant!

 

Work Schedule: 

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • The clinic remains open until 6:00 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays
  • Team members who are interested in staying later on those days have the opportunity to do so

 

To coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required. 
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred. 
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required. Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096.
  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:

Job responsibilities:

  • Room patients efficiently, obtain vital signs, and document medical history.
  • Administer vaccines according to clinical guidelines and maintain accurate immunization records.
  • Learn and utilize the Epic electronic medical record system for documentation and workflow management.
  • Perform capillary blood sticks for glucose checks and other point‑of‑care needs.
  • Conduct point‑of‑care laboratory testing
