Novant Health Pediatrics Blakeney is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)!
Work Schedule: 4 days a week / Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm - 1-2 Saturday shifts a month

This role is ideal for candidates with previous experience working with pediatrics patients or in a medical office setting, though motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply!

What We're Looking For:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED, required.
Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required.
Experience:
Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required.
Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
Additional Skills (required):
Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:
Job responsibilities include:
Room patients and prepare them for examination by obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical history updates, and relevant health information.
Perform clinical testing, including flu, COVID-19, and other point-of-care tests, following established protocols and procedures.
Conduct phlebotomy procedures and collect laboratory specimens accurately and safely.
Complete patient forms, maintain accurate medical records, and facilitate effective communication between patients, providers, and office staff.
Monitor patients following vaccine administration, observe for adverse reactions, and provide patient education and support as needed.
