Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Point of Care

Location: Kalamazoo, MI (49009)

Type: Contract

Schedule:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support a single-provider outpatient clinic. This role requires strong clinical and administrative skills, with a focus on phlebotomy and point-of-care (POC) testing. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform both front-office and back-office medical assistant duties
  • Conduct phlebotomy and point-of-care (POC) lab testing
  • Perform EKGs and record patient vital signs
  • Room patients and assist providers during clinical visits
  • Manage patient scheduling and clinic workflow
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and records
  • Support onsite medication dispensing and fee collection processes
  • Ensure compliance with clinic safety, security, and operational procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Phlebotomy
    • EKG procedures
    • Point-of-care (POC) testing
    • Patient scheduling and registration
    • Rooming patients and taking vitals
    • Front and back-office operations
  • Active CMA certification required
  • Current BLS or CPR certification required
  • Ability to work independently and manage patient flow efficiently

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • Experience treating:
    • Acute patients (ages 2+)
    • Preventative care patients (ages 12+)
  • Clinic setting includes:
    • Shared building environment
    • Dedicated parking and entrance
    • Controlled access with secured entry

Work Environment:

  • Outpatient, single-provider clinic
  • Moderate to fast-paced patient flow
  • Independent and patient-focused setting
