Location: South Park / South Charlotte, NC
Pay:$17–$24/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Setting: Outpatient Primary Care

An established primary care practice in the South Park / South Charlotte area is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide hands-on clinical and administrative support in a busy outpatient setting.

This position works closely with physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience. Occasional coverage at nearby office locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain medical histories and vital signs, complete screenings, and document information in the EHR

• Assist providers with examinations and minor office procedures

• Administer injections and approved non-IV medications

• Perform EKGs, venipuncture, capillary sticks, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived testing

• Prepare procedure trays and assist with dressings and suture removal

• Respond to patient calls, portal messages, pharmacy requests, and medication refills

• Complete medication prior authorizations and follow up on provider orders

• Schedule referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up appointments

• Monitor assigned EHR inboxes and reconcile laboratory results

• Obtain medical records, laboratory results, imaging reports, and referral documentation

• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, maintain supplies, and complete required safety logs

• Support efficient patient flow and provide coverage at nearby office locations as needed

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Medical Assisting program

• Current Medical Assistant certification required

• Current American Heart Association or client-approved BLS certification

• At least 1 year of recent Medical Assistant experience or completion of a medical-office externship

• Hands-on experience with EKGs, vital signs, venipuncture, capillary sticks, and injections

• Comfortable working with electronic health record systems

• Strong communication, organization, and patient-service skills

• Ability to remain active throughout the workday and lift or support up to 35 pounds

Required Health Documentation:
TB screening and Hepatitis B and influenza vaccination records or applicable declination forms.

Pay: $17–$24/hour, depending on experience
