We are seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, and skilled Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Heart & Vascular Institute - Salisbury team. This role plays an essential part in supporting our providers, delivering high-quality patient care, and ensuring efficient clinical operations within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

 

Schedule: 8:00-4:30PM, Monday - Friday

Location: Heart and Vascular Institute - Salisbury

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
    • Certification/registry must be obtained by the last day of the sixth month of hire, and an education agreement signed. Certification/registry accepted: CMA with the American Associate of Medical Assistants (AAMA), CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA), RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH), and RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). Alternative Work Experience (for eligibility to take NHA, ARMA, NHCWA, NCCT, NAHP or AMT exams, if not already certified or registered on hire): Applicant shall be employed as a supervised medical assistant for a minimum of one (1) year (NHA or NHCWA) within the last three (3) years, for a minimum of 2 years (NCCT, NAHP), for a minimum of 3 years (ARMA), for a minimum of 5 years (AMT) of the last 7 years (with no more than 2 of those years as an instructor in a post-secondary medical assistant program). Or graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing. Experience must include both clinical (including medication administration) and administrative duties, required. 
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred. 
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required. Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096.
  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:
  • Prepare patients for cardiac and vascular appointments by obtaining vitals, performing EKGs, and updating medical histories.
  • Clinical Support and Testing.
  • Keep patients informed about their visit, testing processes, and next steps for care.
  • Embody the Novant Health human experience by delivering kindness, empathy, and professionalism in every encounter.
  • Partner closely with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, nurses, and sonographers to deliver coordinated care.
