Orthopedic sports medicine physician practice looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Certified Medical Assistant.

DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Patient triage e.g prepare patients for exam and treatment by taking patient history and vital signs.
  • Assisting physicians with minor in office procedures and physicals.
  • Administrative paperwork completion, answer and return patient telephone calls (e.g voicemails, FMLA forms etc.).
  • Working with direct patient care.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments and prepare sterilization as required.
  • Update and file medical records via electronic record keeping.
  • Communicates effectively and demonstrates a caring attitude towards patient and family.
  • Follows universal precautions, OSHA standards and HIPPA regulations.
  • Performs phlebotomy, injections IM, removes sutures/staples, simple dressing changes and reports any pertinent information to physician.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program (required)
  • Medical Assistance Certification (required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (preferred)

Medical Assistants who have recently graduated from an accredited Medical Assisting program will be required to obtain a clinical MA certification within 60 days of employment.

EXPERIENCE: 1+ years of experience in office, clerical, or medical work; medical assistant, admissions rep, or clinic support (preferred), or customer service

ABILITIES: Must demonstrate strong leadership and effective communication skills. Excellent planning, organization and managements skills. Ability to multi-task, works in a fast-paced work environment, and demonstrates team cooperation.

Job Type: Full-time - Monday through Friday with a few rotating Saturday mornings. Traveling involved from one clinic to another based on physician schedule. Dependable transportation required.
