Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C)
Location: Tacoma, Federal Way, and Gig Harbor (Travel to all clinics required).
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 7:30 AM - 6 PM, Various days a week. No nights, limited Saturday hours, and closed on Sundays and major holidays. Saturday rotation is required approximately once every 6-8 weeks (8 AM - 1 PM).
Pay: $26.40 - $39.46/hour per hour (commensurate with experience), plus a $5,000 Sign-On Bonus paid in installments at 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year.

About the position:
We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join our team. In this role, you will be essential in supporting providers with patient care, ensuring the highest standards of care and efficiency in a collaborative environment.
As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for gathering patient information, assisting with examinations, performing clinical procedures, and supporting the overall workflow in a fast-paced environment. Your role will contribute to ensuring a positive patient experience while supporting the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain patient medical history, review medication dosage and frequency, confirm allergies, and clarify the purpose of the visit or treatment.
  • Take vital signs, including height, weight, head circumference, temperature, respirations, pulse rate, and blood pressure.
  • Enter completed screening forms into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Conduct hearing and vision testing.
  • Collect patient samples such as throat and nasal swabs.
  • Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., strep, flu, urinalysis).
  • Prepare specimens for lab testing and assist with medical procedures like circumcisions, Nexplanon insertions, suture removals, etc.
  • Perform specialized procedures under established protocols (e.g., PKU collections, catheterization).
  • Administer immunizations, distribute VIS forms, and complete immunization checklist.
  • Administer immunotherapy and review pre-injection questionnaires.
  • Administer medications as ordered by the provider.
  • Enter procedure or order results into the EMR system.
  • Clean and sanitize exam rooms between patient visits and sterilize medical equipment.
  • Stock exam rooms with necessary supplies daily.
  • Document fridge and freezer temperatures daily to ensure proper storage.
  • Monitor and address in-basket inquiries at your assigned location daily.
  • Travel to our Federal Way, Gig Harbor, and Tacoma clinics based on staffing needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program, with an externship completed in a pediatric setting (preferred).
  • Washington State Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).
  • Current Health Care Provider-level CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in EPIC or similar EHR systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with a focus on patient care.
