About the Role:
Novant Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to coordinate and assist healthcare providers in delivering safe, quality, and cost-effective care to our diverse patient population. What We're Looking For:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required.
- Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
- Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:
What You’ll be doing:
- Coordinate and assist providers in delivering healthcare services.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures
- Take vital signs, obtain medical histories
- Assist with patient form request ie FMLA or other needed forms.
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for treatment
- Ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective care for patients.
- Foster a safe patient environment driven by the principles of "First Do No Harm."
- Engage in teamwork and community involvement to enhance patient care.
What we’re looking for:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant Program: Graduate from an accredited program including pharmacology and medication administration.
- Certification: Current certification as CMA, RMA, or CCMA, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Experience: Previous work in a Medical Office is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Ability to successfully complete skills validation and competency testing.
- Language: Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
