The Certified Medication Aide on our team will serve as a support system to our licensed nursing team of RNs and LPN/LVNs, primarily tasked with administrating prescribed medications and performing additional nursing tasks as permissible by state law.
Qualifications:
- Valid Certified Medication Technician (CMT) credential/license.
- At least 1+ year experience in Clinical Documentation or as a Certified Medication Aide, along with a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification/license
Key Roles:
- Dispensing oral, inhalation, and topical medications to patients under licensed nurse supervision.
- Entrusted with the responsibility of observing patients for any adverse drug reactions, notifying the nurses without delay.
- Tasks will extend to those linked to medication administration.
- Maintaining patient vital signs, calculating medication dosages, and restocking the medication cart.
- Accurate recording of medication administrations as per agency procedures.
- Assisting the nursing team in patient care, involving the observation and reportage of client needs.
- Recognizing tasks as per your skill and education level and ensuring you perform them ethically, legally, and responsibly.
