• Portneuf Medical Center (PMC) is a nationally recognized healthcare leader with 205 beds, serving as the region's Level II Trauma Center and tertiary referral hospital and is home to the Portneuf Heart and Vascular Institute, Portneuf Cancer Center, Portneuf Medical Group, and Portneuf Air Rescue. PMC has a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, an adult intensive care unit, nationally recognized orthopedic services, a full suite of cardiac care, Center of Excellence-recognized surgeons, imaging, and primary and specialty care.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible to provide direct patient care under the direction of the Licensed Nurse and/or providers and assist the providers in the delivery of world-class medical care.
• Provides direct care to patients in accordance with existing protocols, policies, and procedures. 
• Contributes to the assessment of patient’s health status by collecting, recording, and reporting objective and subjective data. Timely, consistently, and accurately documents all patient interactions.
• Works effectively with providers and patients to schedule surgeries, imaging, lab, etc. Completes pre-authorization for all procedures or testing to ensure effective reimbursement.
• Answers phones and responds to messages in a timely manner. Communicates and interacts with all customers
  (patients, visitors, co-workers, administrative staff, and physicians) in a positive and supportive manner.
• Demonstrates efficiency and dependability with assigned job responsibilities and cross-trains, as appropriate, to assist other staff members in their job duties.

Qualifications:

Job Requirements: 

• Current Certified Nurse Assistant certification in the State of Idaho.
• High School Diploma or GED

• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:  

• One year of experience as a nurse assistant.
