POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for a variety of tasks and services to assist in the provision of care and comfort for patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The CNA will report and record observations and contribute to the efficient functionality of the department.
ANTICIPATED SCHEDULE:
• 32-40 hours weekly • Shift: 6:00am to 2pm • Every other weekend/holiday
REQUIREMENTS:
• Completion of accredited Nursing Assistant program • Must be 16 years of age • License/Registration/Certification: • Required: Active Nursing Assistant certification within state of Iowa • Required: Must have or obtain active BLS within orientation period
EXPERIENCE:
• Preferred: Prior CNA experience
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required • Ability to operate a personal computer with a general understanding of application software, and an understanding of the Internet • Ability to learn office and organization-specific software • Ability to adapt to flexible patient schedules and frequent interruptions • Demonstrates effective communication skills, and problem solving abilities
