Description

Position Summary


The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and support services under the supervision of a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN). The CNA assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitors patient conditions, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  •  Assist residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene. 
  •  Help residents with feeding, hydration, and meal assistance as needed. 
  •  Measure and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure. 
  •  Assist with transferring, repositioning, and ambulating residents using proper body mechanics and equipment. 
  •  Observe and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or mental condition to nursing staff. 
  •  Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided. 
  •  Assist with range-of-motion exercises and restorative care programs. 
  •  Ensure residents' rooms and equipment are clean, organized, and safe. 
  •  Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures. 
  •  Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests. 
  •  Support residents' dignity, privacy, and rights at all times. 
  •  Participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings as assigned. 
  •  Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as directed. 
Qualifications


  •  Current California CNA certification in good standing. 
  •  Current CPR/BLS certification preferred. 
  •  Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual skills are a plus. 
  •  Knowledge of basic nursing care principles and infection control practices. 
  •  Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents safely. 
  •  Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. 
Physical Requirements


  •  Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and transferring of residents. 
  •  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with heavier transfers using appropriate equipment. 
  •  Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. 
Work Environment


  •  Congregate Living Health Facility (CLHF) serving residents with complex medical needs, including ventilator-dependent individuals, neurological disorders, spinal cord injuries, and other chronic conditions. 
  •  Exposure to medical equipment, bodily fluids, and infectious materials in accordance with OSHA and facility safety guidelines.
