Job Description
Performs intermediate human support work providing personal care and supportive nursing aide assignments senior citizen clients; does related work as required. Work is directed and supervised by the In-Home Supervisor.

Position Responsibilities
Provides personal care and supportive nursing aide assignments to senior citizen clients. May perform as a substitute Daycare Aide to maintain a structured environment for adult daycare participants through scheduled activities, participant supervision, and providing appropriate documentation.

Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of the routine care and treatment of acutely chronically ill clients; working knowledge of general physical and mental problems of the chronically ill and obvious signs of condition changes; skill in observing basic personal health care and home management needs of patients; ability to read and carry out detailed instructions; ability to work with older adults; ability to work with people from all socio-economic levels; ability to carry out health aid work in the home of a patient; ability to practice sound hygiene and sanitation techniques; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and associates.
Education, Experience, and Special Requirements
High School Graduate or equivalent with some experience as a certified nurse aide.
This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, fingering, feeling, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for depth and color perception, peripheral vision, preparing and analyzing written or computer data, use of measuring devices, operation of machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, and atmospheric conditions. The worker may be exposed to blood borne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.

North Carolina Local Governmental Employees Retirement System
Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the retirement system and must contribute 6% of their gross salary each pay period. Once eligibility requirements are met, employees will be able to receive monthly payments for life based on their salary, age, and years of service credit.
NC401k
The County contributes 1% of employees gross salary into the 401(k) account regardless of the employees deferral amount. In addition, the County matches employee deferrals up to an additional 4%.
Vacation Leave
Regular full-time employees earn 13.5 days of vacation leave per year. With each 5-year increment of employment, vacation accrual increases.
Sick Leave
Regular full-time employees earn 12 days of sick leave per year.
Paid Holidays
County employees receive paid holidays annually. The Board of County Commissioners approves and may adjust the schedule as deemed necessary.
ComPsych Mental Health Services
The County provides Mental Health and Life Services through ComPsych to help employees and their families with personal, family and job-related problems such as counseling, crisis support, work-life resources, legal and financial consultations, and organizational support tools.
