Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The CNA assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitors patient conditions, and helps maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, and weight.
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, ambulation, positioning, and range-of-motion exercises.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or vital signs to the nursing staff promptly.
• Assist with meal setup, feeding, hydration, and monitoring dietary intake as directed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and activities in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure patient rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and provide timely assistance.
• Maintain infection prevention and control practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families.
• Assist with transporting patients to procedures, therapy sessions, and other departments as needed.
• Follow all facility policies, patient safety guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and state and federal standards.
