Salary Range: 18.92 - 23.62 Pay rates are determined based on experience and internal equity.

Position Summary

  • Get height and weight on every patient then take to exam room.
  • Take blood pressure for patient when come in for blood pressure check then document into EHR.
  • Checking each patient for allergy to latex- if so ensure patient is roomed in decreased latex environment room.
  • Patients are to be roomed in order of appointments or as per Provider Guidelines.
  • Verify patient name and provider they are seeing before rooming.
  • Answer phones.
  • Assist nursing staff as appropriate.
  • Answer patient questions.
  • Take messages for MD from patients and return calls with answers from MD.
  • Clean/Disinfect exam rooms after patient use.
  • Manage incoming faxes.

  • Constantly use C-I-CARE principles when communicating with others.

Position Duties/Responsibility

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the care of patients in the after the appropriate orientation to the area.
  • Maintains ability to perform competencies as listed above.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Documents patient care through appropriate charting.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Distribute faxes to assigned providers.
  • Assign/print out incoming faxes.
  • Assist with medical records.

Essential Functions

  • The ability to verbally and in writing communicate with physician, patients and co-workers.
  • The ability to maintain a Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
  • The ability to be supervised.
  • The ability to work as a Team.
  • The ability to have positive personal interactions with coworkers, patients, families and others.

Position Qualifications Education

  • High School graduate or GED preferred.

Experience

  • At least 6 months to 1 year of patient care experience.

Certifications

  • Have a current Certified Nursing Assistant Certification and Current CPR certification required from the American Heart Association.

Skills

  • Be able to communicate effectively with patients to the degree the patients ability allows.
  • Be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate patients condition to other staff.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.
