Certifications/Licenses: - Completion of a state-approved medicine course with a passing grade.
- Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program.
- Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with one year of experience in nursing.
- Requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand
- spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients
Mandatory Experience: - CNA Experience
- Receives report at the beginning of shift with nurses.
- Reports observations concerning patient condition, emergency situations or difficulties with medications to the supervising nurse;
- Prepares and administers routine and PRN medications as prescribed by the physician;
- Does not administer medication based on verbal order;
- Documents administration of medications per Genesis policies;
- Maintains medication supply and cleans and restocks medicine carts and medicine room as needed.
- Notifies pharmacy of new medication orders and refills.
- Performs accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drugtherapy.
- Maintains current knowledge of medications and investigates/looks up unknown medications before administration;
- Uses Point Click Care according to the Business Process, if applicable;
- Stays and works beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet state staffing requirements and/or needs of patients.
