Overview:
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join a healthcare team within a correctional facility in Wisconsin. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide essential healthcare support services while making a meaningful impact on an underserved patient population.
The CNA works under the supervision of licensed nursing staff to assist with direct patient care, activities of daily living, patient monitoring, documentation, and maintaining a safe and secure healthcare environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
What you will be doing:
Patient Care
Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
Monitor and record vital signs, height, weight, and other patient care data as directed.
Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, or physical status to licensed nursing staff.
Assist with patient intake, transfers, and discharge processes.
Support patient comfort, dignity, and well-being while maintaining professional boundaries.
Clinical Support
Prepare examination and treatment areas.
Assist nursing staff with routine procedures and patient care activities.
Collect specimens as directed and transport them according to facility protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in medical records.
Ensure patient rooms and clinical areas remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Team Collaboration
Communicate effectively with nurses, providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and orientation programs.
Support a positive and respectful work environment.
What you must have:
Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Wisconsin or eligibility for reciprocity.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current CPR/BLS certification.
Nice to have:
Previous experience in correctional healthcare, long-term care, behavioral health, hospital, or medical-surgical settings.
Experience working with diverse patient populations.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
Schedule: Rotating 8 hour shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm), every other weekend and assigned holidays.
