PRN-AS NEEDED working 12-hour shifts from 6:00 to 6:30. Day or Night Shift. 40 hours per week is not guaranteed.
Assist individuals with transfers, ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, personal hygiene, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
Follow instructions to use simple procedures and devices to strengthen limbs and maintain flexibility.
Assist nursing staff with simple medical procedures such as suppositories, enemas, treatments, post-surgical care, and post-mortem care.
Monitor physical and mental status by utilizing appropriate medical equipment and techniques to take vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations); obtain urine, sputum, or stool samples; and track input/output.
Responsible for medical record and worksheet documentation on all assigned individuals. Keep records and prepare simple reports.
Assist with dining, including transporting to the dining room, informing about menu choices, communicating with dining staff about choices, serving meals in courses, and assisting if necessary.
Provide care and comfort by responding to requests for assistance timely, in accordance with the Resident Bill of Rights.
Maintain cleanliness of areas by changing bedding, linens, and other items to ensure neat and sanitary conditions.
Report to and assist licensed nurses in emergency situations rapidly and appropriately, following established policies and procedures.
Perform other related duties such as transporting to appointments outside the facility and clerical duties (e.g., answering phones, filing) as needed.
Actively involved in processes such as Huddle Boards, Problem Solving, Job Breakdown Sheets, Success Tracking, and Standardized Work.
Participate fully in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of para-professional nursing care, treatment, and services appropriate to the work setting.
Understanding of state and agency laws and regulations governing para-professional nursing practices.
Familiarity with practices and procedures of using medical equipment in assigned duties and maintaining a safe, orderly, therapeutic, and hygienic environment.
Skills in applying methods and techniques of para-professional nursing practices and using and maintaining medical equipment.
Ability to record, maintain, file, and retrieve medical records and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Capability to establish and maintain effective work relationships and learn, implement, and monitor management system methods.
Licensure/Education
Active Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required.
