Speak to Me is a growing pediatric therapy practice in Mooresville, NC, and we are looking for a
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team!
We provide Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy services to children in a fun, collaborative, and supportive environment. Our OT department continues to grow, and we are looking for a COTA who loves working with children, enjoys collaborating with other therapists, and is passionate about helping kids build confidence and independence.
What You’ll Do
As a COTA at Speak to Me, you will:
- Provide pediatric occupational therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising OT
- Work with children on fine motor skills, visual motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, coordination, activities of daily living, developmental skills, and other areas identified in their plan of care
- Use creative, play-based activities to help children work toward their therapy goals
- Complete treatment documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Monitor patient progress and communicate observations and changes to the supervising OT
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with parents and caregivers
- Provide families with appropriate carryover activities and recommendations as directed by the supervising OT
- Collaborate with OTs, other COTAs, SLPs, PTs, and administrative staff to provide coordinated patient care
- Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging treatment environment
- Follow practice policies as well as state, professional, and payer requirements
- Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current North Carolina COTA license or eligibility for NC licensure
- NBCOT certification
- Pediatric experience preferred, but we are open to candidates who are excited to grow their pediatric skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with supervising OTs and other members of the therapy team
- Organized and able to complete documentation in a timely manner
- Dependable, energetic, creative, and comfortable working with children and families
- A positive, team-oriented approach to patient care
