Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a collaborative rehabilitation team serving patients across acute care, outpatient, swing bed, and long-term care settings. This position offers the opportunity to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric populations while helping improve their independence, safety, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist with assessments, treatment planning, and implementation of care plans
• Provide occupational therapy treatments under the supervision of an OT
• Support activities programming for swing bed and long-term care patients
• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions and healthy lifestyle practices
• Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the therapy team
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Promote health, wellness, and occupational therapy services throughout the organization

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current NBCOT Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification
• Current Washington State Occupational Therapy Assistant license
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills
• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience working with patients across multiple care settings
• Comfortable treating pediatric through geriatric populations
• Strong documentation and EMR skills
• Flexible, organized, and self-directed work style

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull 25–50 lbs.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, and patient assistance
• Ability to assist patients with mobility and activities of daily living
• Strong fine motor and manual dexterity skills
