Attleboro Public Schools - Multiple locations

Start date: August 25, 2026 with orientation days prior

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree Required; Bachelor''s Degree Preferred
  • Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professionals licensure
  • Minimum of 2-years experience as a COTA, preferably in a school setting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Technology experience

JOB GOAL/PURPOSE: This position provides direct services to students based on IEP goals and services. Consult and supervision is provided by an Occupational Therapist.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or Director of Special Education

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Provide students with direct services with consultation and supervision by Occupational Therapist. May include: lifting, transferring, positioning, using adaptive equipment, toileting, setting up positioning devices, as well as assisting and supporting during activities.
  • Collects and maintains data on student progress per the IEP goals as well as direct logs of therapy services.
  • Completes Medicaid requirements.
  • Participate in the development of student's Individual Education Program (IEP) with direct supervision of Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist teachers and other special education staff in the development and implementation of curriculum accommodations/modifications and appropriate classroom strategies as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation with direct supervision by Occupational Therapist
  • Provide information to parents and guardians of students of direct services as needed.
  • Maintain compliance of regulations of Individualized Education Program development, team meetings, Medicaid billing, and progress reports
  • Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques in the field
  • Perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by a supervisor

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience with students aged 18-21 years old

Safety-Care trained preferred

Experience with ABA principles/methodology preferred.

Salary per Attleboro Paraprofessionals Association Collective Bargaining Agreement

Salary range: $32,266 - $47,397
