Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work in a healthcare setting in Laurel, Maryland 20708.

  • Contract: 13 weeks

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday

  • Hours: 40 hours per week

  • Compensation: $1250 - $1296

Key Requirements

  • Administer occupational therapy modalities and treatment procedures as determined by a treatment plan established by an Occupational Therapist.

  • Provide direct patient care to help restore function and prevent disability following illness or injury.

  • Monitor patient progress and collaborate with the supervising OT to modify treatment plans as needed to ensure successful recovery.

  • Document patient treatments, significant changes in progress, and billing information accurately and timely.

  • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians and nursing staff, to coordinate quality patient care.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe treatment environment, ensuring all therapy equipment is in good working order.

Key Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree).

  • Current and active Maryland Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license.

  • Current certification in good standing with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

  • Valid BLS/CPR certification for healthcare providers.

  • Ability to commit to a 13-week contract with a consistent 40-hour weekly schedule.
