The Waupun Area School District is seeking a highly skilled and energetic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our school team for the 2025/26 school year. This is a full time position and travel among buildings may be required.

The Waupun Area School District is a 4K-12 school district serving a population of 1900 students in South Central Wisconsin. Located conveniently on Hwy 151, Waupun is only 45 minutes north of Madison and 20 minutes south of Fond du Lac. WASD is home to four schools, including a charter school in Fox Lake.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam
- Wisconsin DSPS OTA License
- Wisconsin DPI License
- Ability to communicate with school staff, students, families, and outside agencies
- Has excellent behavioral management skills to maintain student discipline
- Organizational skills
- Ability to problem-solve
- Capacity to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to take and follow directions and also work independently
- Capability and willingness to be a team player and develop interpersonal relationships while maintaining a professional demeanor
- Punctual
Responsibilities include the following:
- Adapt school and classroom environment, tools, and materials to improve student functioning and facilitate student access to curriculum and instructional activities
- Assist Occupational Therapist with assessing students' fine motor and developmental skills in determining deficits and developing recommendations
- Implement therapeutic activities, per student IEP and instruct students, teachers, parents, and other involved persons (e.g. positioning, adjusting special equipment, sensory diet, assistive technology, etc.) for the purpose of providing appropriate care to students and/or supporting the student's IEP plan for use in the school setting
- Consult and collaborate with team, outside agencies, and families to provide information, review goals/objectives, and develop plans for services and/or recommendations to implement goals
- Implement therapeutic activities to prove appropriate care and support IEP plan for use in the classroom
- Attend meetings and workshops (IEPs, training, team meetings, conferences, outside agencies)
- Maintain files and records in documenting activities to ensure compliance with state, federal, and administrative regulations
- Maintain equipment and supplies in clean and proper working condition
- Prepare written materials (activity logs, progress notes, reports, etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned
