Assist with a student caseload under the direction of an occupational therapist.
Develop a daily schedule/routine.
Conduct appropriate activities to meet individual children's exceptional educational needs.
Assist therapists and special education teachers in rehabilitation and progress toward independent student function in the following areas of child development:
a. Mobility inside and outside school buildings.
b. Acquisition toward independent mobility skills, including wheelchair mobility.
c. Proper positioning.
d. Development of gross and fine motor skills.
e. Adaptive equipment fabrication and utilization.
f. Student knowledge and understanding of his/her exceptional educational needs.
Direct treatment of students under the supervision of occupational therapists.
Maintain therapy equipment, records, supplies and other housekeeping duties.
Maintain regular and scheduled communication with supervising therapist.
Consult/communicate with students, parents, teachers and administrators as needed.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in team processes for continuous improvement.
Assist with the supervision and management of students.
