GENERAL DESCRIPTION: To assist in providing occupational therapy to students with disabilities while working under the direction and supervision of an occupational therapist.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Ohio Occupational Therapy Assistant License.
  • Valid Ohio Department of Education Occupational Therapy Assistant License.
  • Valid Ohio driver''s license.
  • Knowledge of IDEA rules and regulations, and best practices for the provision of therapy services for children in their least restrictive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of students, families and staff.
  • Access to own motor vehicle during work hours.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work/operate as a team member.
  • History of good job attendance.
  • Must pass criminal background checks and be free from communicable diseases.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board''s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
