Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide occupational therapy services to residents in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). The COTA will work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to support residents with daily activities, functional mobility, therapeutic exercises, and independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, and therapeutic activities.

• Implement treatment activities based on individual resident needs and established care plans.

• Monitor resident progress and report changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

• Complete accurate and timely treatment records and clinical documentation.

• Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

• Promote resident safety, independence, and quality of care.

• Follow individualized plans of care and established therapy protocols.

• Maintain compliance with facility policies and applicable state regulations.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State COTA License required.

• BLS certification required.

• Previous COTA experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) required.

• Experience working with residents in a nursing home or skilled nursing setting.

• Knowledge of occupational therapy procedures, patient safety, and clinical documentation.

• Ability to work 5 days per week, including Saturdays.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
