Certified Payroll Specialist

Location: Milford, OH (Onsite)

Pay: $38 - $43/hour

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday

Position Type: 3-Month Contract

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with our client in Milford, Ohio, to identify an experienced Certified Payroll Specialist for a 3-month contract assignment. This role is ideal for a payroll professional with strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, payroll compliance, and certified payroll reporting. The ideal candidate will hold a current Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation and possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly, biweekly, and special payroll cycles accurately and on time

• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

• Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements, Davis-Bacon regulations, and payroll tax laws

• Audit payroll data including hours worked, deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions

• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries

• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation for audits and reporting requirements

• Reconcile payroll reports, tax filings, and general ledger entries

• Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and project teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance

Qualifications

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification required

• 3+ years of payroll experience, including certified payroll processing

• Strong understanding of prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting requirements

• Experience with multi-state payroll processing

• Knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and compliance regulations

• Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• High degree of confidentiality and attention to detail
