Certified Payroll Compliance Specialist (Contract)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established construction and infrastructure organization to identify a Certified Payroll Compliance Specialist for a contract opportunity. This position will support a high-volume payroll and compliance team responsible for prevailing wage projects and certified payroll reporting across multiple business entities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction payroll professional with hands-on knowledge of certified payroll, prevailing wage regulations, and compliance reporting.

Position Overview

The Certified Payroll Compliance Specialist will play a key role in managing certified payroll reporting requirements, maintaining prevailing wage compliance documentation, processing compliance-related notices, and supporting reporting activities for government-funded and prevailing wage projects. This position is heavily focused on compliance, reporting, and payroll documentation rather than traditional payroll processing.

This position is a 6-month temporary assignment with potential to last longer and possibly get hired. Pay for this role will be between $30 and $40/hr.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate certified payroll reports from internal payroll and job-costing systems.
• Review, prepare, and upload certified payroll data to compliance tracking platforms.
• Process compliance notices and resolve reporting discrepancies.
• Maintain prevailing wage records and supporting compliance documentation.
• Create and manage wage deduction forms and related payroll documents.
• Update and maintain compliance spreadsheets and tracking reports.
• Assist with ongoing certified payroll reporting requirements for multiple projects.
• Analyze large payroll data sets and ensure data accuracy throughout the reporting process.
• Split and manage large report files for submission into external compliance systems.
• Collaborate with payroll, operations, and project teams to ensure compliance requirements are met.
• Identify reporting errors and troubleshoot data issues independently.
• Support additional compliance and reporting initiatives as business needs evolve.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience with prevailing wage payroll administration.
• Experience supporting construction payroll operations.
• Hands-on experience with certified payroll reporting and compliance requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and report management.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to investigate and resolve reporting issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using certified payroll compliance tracking software.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and large data-set management.
• Experience working with Adobe Acrobat and electronic document management tools.
• Previous experience supporting government-funded or prevailing wage construction projects.
