Certified Payroll Operations Coordinator

Are you the go-to person for closing payroll on time, every time? Do you navigate multi-state taxes and FLSA nuances with confidence? At Express, we’re looking for a Certified Payroll Operations Coordinator who blends precision, service, and systems savvy.

What You’ll Tackle

• Own the complete payroll cycle for hourly and salaried employees.
• Update and audit employee data: onboarding, separations, pay-rate changes, and direct deposit details.
• Reconcile time entries by reviewing electronic timesheets and resolving discrepancies before payroll runs.
• Process deductions spanning benefits premiums, 401(k) withholdings, and garnishments.
• Calculate, file, and remit payroll taxes at the federal, state (including multi-state), and local levels.
• Compile operational reporting—from payroll KPIs to monthly payroll journal entries—and prepare year-end outputs like W-2s and related tax forms.
• Perform system audits, maintain clean databases, and provide requested documentation to external corporate auditors.
• Deliver responsive employee support on paychecks, tax withholdings, and benefit payouts.

Your Toolkit

• Experience with Workday, ADP, Paychex, Gusto, or QuickBooks Payroll
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and database administration capabilities
• Comfort with accounting workflows, including ledger entries

Credentials & Skills

• CPP, FPC, or NACPB CPS credential
• Expert knowledge of FLSA, multi-state tax jurisdictions, and local labor rules
• Extreme attention to detail, discretion with sensitive data, and strong communication

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• 2–5 years of corporate payroll experience

Compensation

$44,000.00 – $50,000.00 annually
