Under the supervision of a Pharmacist:
- Responsible for drug distribution services
- Order processing functions
- The preparation of pharmaceutical doses
- Clerical functions
- Monthly unit floor inspections
- Departmental section checks to maintain adequate inventory levels of in-date pharmaceuticals on nursing units and the pharmacy department
Must also:
- Maintain the required professional and hospital competencies for a State Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Assist with performance improvement activities
- Perform any other job related duties as requested by a pharmacist or pharmacy management
Must be currently certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), and registered in good standing as a "State Certified Pharmacy Technician" with the SC Board of Pharmacy. (This requires being a graduate of an approved Pharmacy Technician program and by having submitted documentation for their required number of work experience hours as a pharmacy technician or having met requirements to be grandfathered in by 2004).
Must have basic typing skills and a working knowledge of computers and equipment utilized in the preparation, repackaging, dispensing and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
