The Certified Data Entry Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in supporting pharmacists to ensure the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. They are required to accurately process prescriptions and assist in all aspects of pharmacy workflow assignments, business development and retention. Throughout all interactions the Certified Pharmacy Technician must maintain a high level of professionalism and present the organization in the best light possible. They are expected to deliver exceptional care and service to our external and internal customers, maintain the highest levels of compliance possible while helping to maximize the productivity of Resident Care Pharmacy. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will meet these goals by the timely completion of their assigned duties and responsibilities listed below. This position involves maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. The technician will serve as a vital link between patients, pharmacists, and healthcare providers, facilitating clear communication and excellent customer service. By maintaining meticulous records and adhering to safety protocols, the technician helps to minimize errors and optimize patient outcomes. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall effectiveness and reliability of pharmacy operations within the healthcare setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent
Current & Ongoing PTCB or other recognized CPhT Certificate
Current & Ongoing Registration with MA Board of Pharmacy
5 years’ experience as Certified Pharmacy Technician in Long-Term Care pharmacy setting
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Certification as a Pharmacy Technician from an accredited program (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT).
Valid Pharmacy Technician license or registration as required by the state of Massachusetts.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and medication dispensing procedures.
Advanced computer proficiency, including experience with pharmacy management software QS1.
Proficient computer skills, QS1 and DocuTrack experience a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement processes.
Excellent organizational, problem solving and mathematical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with Massachusetts state pharmacy laws and regulations.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Verify prescription information and patient data to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, and stocking pharmaceutical supplies and medications.
Assist patients by answering questions, providing information on medication usage, and directing them to the pharmacist for clinical inquiries.
Maintain detailed records of prescriptions, transactions, and inventory to support audits and regulatory compliance.
Operate pharmacy QS1 software systems to process prescriptions and manage patient profiles.
Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

The required skills enable the pharmacy technician to accurately interpret prescriptions and manage medication dispensing with precision, ensuring patient safety. Proficiency in pharmacy software systems is essential for processing prescriptions and maintaining accurate patient records. Strong communication skills are used daily to interact with programs and healthcare professionals, providing clear information and support. Organizational skills help in managing inventory and maintaining a clean, compliant work environment. Preferred skills such as knowledge of insurance processes and regulatory requirements enhance the technician's ability to navigate complex pharmacy operations and contribute to efficient workflow.
Varied 40 Hour Schedule during operating hours 8am to 6:30pm.
