Certified Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
This role offers a certified pharmacy technician the opportunity to support safe and accurate medication handling in a fast-paced pharmacy environment. You will manage specialty pharmaceuticals and related supplies, process pharmacy orders, and maintain inventory while adhering to all applicable regulations and internal policies. This position suits a detail-oriented professional who enjoys fulfillment, data entry, and customer-focused pharmacy operations, with the potential to transition from contract to a permanent role based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Handle medications for specialty pharmaceuticals and related supplies in accordance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
- Process pharmacy orders accurately, ensuring all necessary medications, supplies, and documentation are complete and included.
- Perform drug and supply ordering to maintain appropriate stock levels and support uninterrupted pharmacy operations.
- Manage inventory by tracking stock, rotating products, and identifying and addressing discrepancies or shortages.
- Ensure proper storage of drugs and supplies, including maintaining appropriate refrigeration and handling requirements for perishable products.
- Monitor pharmacy equipment to confirm it operates safely and effectively, and make necessary adjustments as needed.
- Support fulfillment activities by preparing, packaging, and labeling medications and supplies accurately and efficiently.
- Perform data entry for prescriptions, orders, and inventory records with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain a cleanroom and general pharmacy areas in a clean, organized, and compliant condition, following established cleaning procedures.
- Provide customer service in a pharmacy setting, assisting with questions related to prescriptions, orders, and pharmacy processes as appropriate.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals to support safe and timely delivery of medications.
- Follow all standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards to ensure compliance and patient safety.
Essential Skills
- Active certified pharmacy technician credential (such as CPhT or equivalent national certification).
- Valid pharmacy technician license in the state of Florida.
- Pharmacy technician certification and national pharmacy technician certificate.
- Eligibility to work as a pharmacy technician, including being at least 18 years old.
- Experience handling pharmacy fulfillment tasks, including order processing and medication preparation.
- Proficiency in pharmacy-related data entry with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience working in a retail pharmacy, healthcare, or similar pharmacy setting.
- Customer service experience in a pharmacy technician or healthcare support role.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a cleanroom environment.
- Inventory management experience, including ordering, stocking, and tracking medications and supplies.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and regulations related to pharmacy operations and medication handling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Pharmacy experience in any setting is preferred, including retail, fulfillment, or healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with specialty pharmaceuticals and related supply handling is beneficial.
- Comfort working with pharmacy equipment and making basic adjustments as needed.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple orders, inventory tasks, and documentation simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain a clean, orderly, and compliant work area, including cleanroom standards.
- Effective communication skills to interact with pharmacy staff, healthcare professionals, and customers.
- Reliability and consistency in meeting schedule requirements and performance expectations.
- Interest in transitioning from a contract role to a potential permanent position based on performance.
Work Environment
This position is a 6‑month contract-to-hire opportunity, with the potential for high-performing technicians to be converted to permanent roles. The schedule includes a 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. shift Monday through Friday, as well as additional coverage on a 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift as needed. You will work in a pharmacy setting that includes cleanroom areas, refrigerated storage for perishable medications, and standard pharmacy equipment. The environment is structured, regulated, and focused on accuracy, safety, and timely fulfillment of medication orders. You can expect a collaborative atmosphere with other pharmacy professionals and a clear set of procedures and standards to guide daily work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
