Roles & Responsibilities
Perform accurate, compassionate venipuncture and capillary blood draws for patients of all ages
Collect, label, and prepare specimens following strict chain-of-custody and safety protocols
Use clear communication to explain procedures to patients and put them at ease
Maintain accurate documentation and verify patient information to ensure specimen integrity
Follow infection control, safety, and CPR procedures to protect patients and staff
Provide reliable coverage at other SY Health facilities as needed to support the team
Qualifications
Current Phlebotomy Certification
Current California State Phlebotomy Licensure
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred 1-2 years of medical laboratory experience as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
Proficient in medical terminology
Valid clean and clear Driver's license
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Strong phlebotomy technique and specimen handling
Proficiency in medical terminology
Patient-centered communication and bedside manner
Attention to detail and accurate documentation
Infection control and safety-conscious work habits
Ability to adapt to coverage needs across multiple clinic locations
