Job Description

Christopher’s Reason is an OASAS-licensed substance use disorder treatment facility providing outpatient treatment and recovery support services. Our Recovery Living Center operates 24/7 and provides clients with a structured, safe, and supportive environment while they work toward recovery. We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and compassionate Recovery Coach who can provide daily support, maintain structure, and serve as a positive role model for our clients. The ideal candidate who is independent and self-motivated with familiarity and experience in the field of addiction. Please provide certificates and references along with your resume. Only certified Recovery Peer Advocate/Peer Specialist’s will be considered for this position. The salary is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide peer recovery support, encouragement, and accountability to clients.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and substance-free environment.
  • Build professional relationships with clients while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
  • Monitor client activities and address concerns appropriately.
  • Support clients with their daily schedules, treatment attendance, recovery activities, and life skills.
  • Encourage participation in treatment, groups, meetings, and recovery-oriented activities.
  • Complete required daily documentation, shift notes, snapshots, group sheets, and client records accurately and on time.
  • Communicate client concerns, behavioral changes, incidents, or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor and clinical staff.
  • Assist with client appointments, transportation, community resources, and recovery-related needs as assigned.
  • Assist with recovery groups and activities as directed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, case conferences, and required trainings.
  • Follow all OASAS regulations, Christopher’s Reason policies, confidentiality requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Use appropriate de-escalation techniques and immediately notify appropriate staff when a safety or behavioral concern arises.
  • Maintain professionalism and appropriate boundaries at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
 
 Experience and Qualifications:
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate, CRPA.
  • Certified Recovery Peer Advocate- Provisional, CRPA-P.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency.
  • Previous experience working in the field of addiction recovery.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client interactions and progress.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality..
