Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Recreation Therapist, you'll improve patient well-being by designing therapeutic recreation programs, helping them develop skills and enhance quality of life.

Every day you'll assess needs, plan treatments, and lead engaging activities, collaborating with teams and documenting progress.

To be successful in this role, you need strong therapeutic recreation knowledge, creativity, and interpersonal skills.

  • Job Knowledge/Productivity: Completes position responsibilities following established guidelines & protocols within the appropriate time frame.
  • Completes work within an acceptable time frame, avoiding incidental overtime.
  • Demonstrates the ability to set priorities and optimally use work time.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience in Mental Health in an acute hospital setting required.
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS)
  • AHA BLS
