    Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) – Addiction Medicine

    Our client is seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) to provide evidence-based care for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD). Candidates must have Pennsylvania prescribing authority and experience managing medications for addiction treatment.

    Location: Allentown, PA

    This flexible hybrid position combines virtual appointments with in-office appointments and responsibilities.

    Schedule and Work Arrangement

    • The schedule may be adjusted to accommodate the selected Nurse Practitioner’s availability and patient-care needs.

    • In-office days per week are required, as needed, for medication dispensing, injectable treatments, and other services requiring an in-person visit.

    • Appointments that do not require an in-person visit may be conducted virtually.

    • All virtual services must comply with applicable telehealth, prescribing, documentation, and patient-privacy requirements.

    Compensation

    Compensation is based on completed patient appointments:

    • Induction appointments: $95 hourly-$110 hourly per completed 45-minute appointment

    • Follow-up and medication-management appointments: $35 hourly-$40 hourly per completed 15-minute appointment

    Final compensation within these ranges will be based on experience and qualifications.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, or Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

    • Experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, primary care, or an integrated outpatient treatment setting.

    • Experience treating patients with co-occurring medical and behavioral health conditions.

    • Experience administering or managing injectable medications used in addiction treatment.

    • Current Basic Life Support certification, if required by the practice setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and substance-use assessments.

    • Diagnose and treat opioid use disorder, alcohol use disorder, and related health conditions within the CRNP’s authorized scope of practice.

    • Conduct patient induction appointments and develop individualized treatment plans.

    • Initiate, prescribe, and monitor medications for opioid and alcohol use disorders.

    • Conduct follow-up and medication-management appointments in person or virtually, as clinically appropriate.

    • Provide in-office support for medication dispensing and injectable treatments when needed and legally authorized.

    • Evaluate treatment response, medication adherence, side effects, withdrawal symptoms, and risk of recurrence.

    • Order and interpret laboratory tests, toxicology screenings, and other clinically appropriate diagnostic studies.

    • Review the Pennsylvania Prescription Drug Monitoring Program when required.

    • Educate patients about their medications, overdose prevention, naloxone, harm reduction, recovery resources, and continuity of care.

    • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, counselors, behavioral health professionals, pharmacists, and community resources.

    • Identify and respond appropriately to urgent medical, psychiatric, withdrawal-related, or overdose risks.

    • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.

    • Comply with applicable federal and Pennsylvania laws, clinical standards, telehealth rules, prescribing requirements, and organizational policies.



    Requirements

    Required Qualifications

    • Current and unrestricted Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license.

    • Current Pennsylvania CRNP certification in an appropriate clinical specialty.

    • Current Pennsylvania prescriptive authority under an approved collaborative agreement, or the ability to establish and maintain the collaborative agreement required for the position.

    • Current DEA registration appropriate to the medications prescribed in this role.

    • Clinical experience treating opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder.

    • Experience initiating and managing medications for addiction treatment.

    • Knowledge of evidence-based addiction treatment, harm-reduction practices, overdose prevention, and recovery-oriented care.

    • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, medication-management, communication, and documentation skills.

    • Ability to provide appropriate clinical services through telehealth.

    • Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary care team.

    • Commitment to compassionate, respectful, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental patient care.
