JOB SUMMARYSchool NurseWPACES is seeking an experienced and high-energy Certified School Nurse to join our professional community. Considering the necessity of health professionals with integrity and an understanding of the current climate around health and safety, this professional should execute all responsibilities and applicable provisions in accordance with the Pennsylvania School Health Acts and CDC guidelines. WPACES offers a collaborative approach to care for our students and prioritize the safety and wellbeing of all members in our community. This is a permanent full-time position.Job duties:Serves as CDC compliance liaison with Administration to maintain a health conscious and regulatory environment.Advise school Academy Leaders in the planning and organization of school health programs; arranging for special tests, examinations, and immunization programs.Maintains and regularly audits comprehensive health records for each student, including collecting student immunization records and emergency contact forms.Performs mandated screenings, student referrals and follow-up where applicable.Assist in the interpretation of health needs to students, parents, and teachers.Coordinates Section 504 plans, Individual Health Plans, and Emergency Care plans for students with specialized health needs in conjunction with parents and Special Education Director and staffMaintains contact with parents/guardians for the purpose of advising on student health, treatment, and services necessary for safety and enrollmentAssist families in the use of community health resources.Provides training on a variety of health-related subjects including the specific health needs of students with chronic health needs that may require staff involvement. Manages and controls acute and chronic diseases for select students through the administration of medications, physician ordered procedures and CDC guidance. Creates reports for annual auditing and reporting to SDP and PDECompletes the SHARRS report annuallyMaintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.Demonstrates ethical behavior in all aspects of student health and professional work.Participates in professional development opportunities.Requirements:Present a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college/universityPresent a Pennsylvania Registered Professional Nurse LicenseTwo years of full-time of post BSN professional nursing experience in a K-5 school settingCPR certificationMust be able to obtain or currently have all background clearances (Federal, PA State, & Child Abuse)Two or more years' experience with Microsoft Suite and student record-keeping software (Preferred)In the event that the need arises, you will need to be able to: lift, pull or push up to 15 lbs, walk a standard flight of stairs, or stand or sit for up to 45 minutes.Job Type: Full-time
