Job Summary and Qualifications
The Certified Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for proper decontamination, cleaning, assembly, sterilization and storage of instrumentation for surgery and outside departments.
What you will do in this role:
Prepare instruments and supplies through cleaning, packing, sterilizing and storing procedures.
Understand principles of sterilization techniques and operates sterilization equipment.
Assemble all instruments, trays, and drill drays for operating rooms according to policies and procedures.
Perform equipment distribution and routing cleaning and maintenance.
Perform crash cart restocking/exchange.
Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
What qualifications you will need:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Current enrollment in or graduation from a Central Sterile Technician Program required.
Certified Registered Central Service Tech(CRCST)through IAHCSMM or CBSPD required within 1 year of employment start date.
Prior related experience preferred.
Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includes a state-of-the-art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. They also have access to (NICU) and behavioral health treatment centers for children and adults.
