What you will do:
Responsible for assuring quality patient care by coordinating with the circulator in the planning and implementation of patient care in the OR in accordance with AORN standards and the facilities policies and procedures. Assists the surgeon with gowning and gloving, draping of the sterile field and performing technical tasks.
Required Education:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program or completed an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the US Armed Forces or Public Health Service or was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility prior to Sept 2009.
Preferred Education:
Associate Degree
Required Skills:
Ability to read, write and follow instructions; strong organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
Meditech, faxing, scanning
Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Certification as a Surgical Technologist and Basic Life Support
Preferred Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support
Preferred Experience:
One year experience as a surgical tech in a hospital or outpatient surgery.
