Certified Surgical Tech

Facility: Ascension Seton Medical Center Hays

Department/Specialty: Surgery Services Operating Room

Schedule: Full Time | 6:30am-7:00 am Saturday and Sunday | 11:00am-7:00pm Monday and Tuesday

• Prepare surgical suites with sterile drapes, solutions, and the appropriate sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies to ensure a safe environment.
• Anticipate and swiftly hand required or requested instruments and supplies to the surgeon throughout the surgical procedure.
• Facilitate the safe preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients to maintain comfort and surgical access.
• Maintain all surgical instruments in an organized manner while rigorously monitoring and tracking instruments to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate the overall safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures through proactive teamwork and strict adherence to sterile protocols.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

• 2 YEARS CST EXPERIENCE IN TRAUMA FACILITY.
