Position Overview: As a Cardiac Surgical Technologist at our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgical teams during cardiac procedures. Your expertise in cardiovascular surgical procedures and your attention to detail will ensure that surgeries are conducted smoothly and safely. You will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to our patients. Job Details: 13 week assignment 40 hours/week guaranteed Day shift Mon-Fri (6:30a-3p) 15 on-call days/month Weekly gross $2,440 Responsibilities: Preoperative Preparation: Prepare the operating room and sterile instruments for cardiac procedures, ensuring that all equipment is in working order and sterile. Assist Surgeons: Pass instruments, suture materials, and supplies to the surgeon during procedures, anticipating their needs and maintaining a sterile field. Patient Care: Assist in positioning and prepping the patient for surgery, ensuring their safety and comfort. Monitoring: Continuously monitor and maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure, taking appropriate action in case of contamination. Instrument Handling: Manage and handle specialized cardiac surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining their cleanliness and functionality. Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the success of each procedure. Postoperative Duties: Assist in the postoperative care of patients, including wound dressing, removing instruments, and transporting patients to recovery areas. Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, equipment usage, and patient information. Compliance: Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including infection control protocols. Qualifications: Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST). Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist with a focus on cardiac surgery is preferred. Knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism during surgeries. Understanding of sterile techniques and infection control.
