Certified Surgical Technologist CVOR

A Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) opportunity is available in Salem, VA at a 500+ bed acute care hospital specializing in heart and vascular care through a designated Heart Center, as well as orthopedics and spine care, behavioral health, and cancer care.

The role. This position supports cardiovascular and surgical services in an active OR environment. The surgical technologist scrubs C-sections, demonstrates knowledge of surgical instrumentation, and performs infant testing and related tasks as directed by a Registered Nurse. The role also requires maintaining the integrity of the physical environment and equipment, and communicating effectively with both clinical and non-clinical staff across the hospital.

What we're looking for.

• Successful completion of Surgical Tech Course is required or grandfathered in by the state
• Surgical Technician license required; must be registered with the State of VA
• Graduated from a surgical tech program and licensed in the State of VA as a Surgical Tech
• BLS within 90 days of employment
• Knowledge of medical terminology required
• Basic computer knowledge required
• Must have customer service abilities including effective listening skills
• Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
• Previous surgical tech experience preferred; 1–2 years scrub or hospital experience preferred

Schedule. Full-time, days with rotating weekends; shift hours are 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM.

Compensation. $24.87 - $38.30/hr plus $15,000 sign-on bonus
