A Certified Surgical Technologist, under the direction of an RN, will assist in surgical procedures, maintain a sterile environment, and help prepare and organize surgical instruments and materials.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in operative procedures as a “scrubbed” team member.
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures.
• Uphold strict sterile techniques and promptly report any breaks in procedure.
• Support the surgical team by helping position and transfer patients as needed.
• Perform routine clean-up and turnover of operating rooms between cases.
• Assist with the daily and weekly restocking and cleaning of the OR.
• Track and manage surgical inventory and assist with equipment procurement and returns.
• Mentor and support the training of new surgical technologists.
• Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and teamwork.
• Follow all TOA policies and OR procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Pull supplies and instruments for next day.
• Make sure all supplies and instruments are returned at end of shift.
• If not assigned to a room, help purchasing with supplies.

Qualifications
Education& Certification
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited vocational or technical program in Surgical Technology.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Experience
• Minimum of 1 year of training or experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Prior orthopedic surgery experience is preferred but not required.
Skills & Abilities
• Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation.
• Understanding of basic human anatomy and surgical procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment with physical and mental endurance.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient handling.
• Must be comfortable working in a sterile operating room environment.
• Regular use of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull/move equipment and patients as necessary.
