Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) / Surgical Tech – Surgical Services

Location: Rochester, NY

Position Type: Contract (13 Weeks)

Shift: Day Shift

Pay Rate:

• Traveler: $38–$40/hour

• Local: Not accepted (must live more than 50 miles from the facility)

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical services in a fast-paced operating room environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across multiple surgical specialties and be comfortable working with complex procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures.

• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures.

• Maintain sterile technique and ensure adherence to infection control standards.

• Handle surgical instruments, equipment, specimens, and sharps safely.

• Assist with surgical counts and follow Universal Protocol and time-out procedures.

• Support decontamination and sterilization processes.

• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other members of the surgical team.

• Demonstrate knowledge of multiple surgical specialties and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• CST certification required, unless the traveler worked as a Surgical Technologist in New York prior to 2015.

• Minimum 3 years of Surgical Technologist experience.

• General OR experience required.

• Experience with multiple surgical service lines preferred.

• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, specimen handling, sharps safety, and sterilization processes.

• Management/lead experience preferred.

• Epic experience preferred.

• First-time travelers not accepted.

Surgical Experience:
Experience with general, bariatric, vascular, ENT, GI, gynecology, orthopedic, neurological, plastic/reconstructive, robotic, thoracic, and urology procedures is preferred.
