Qualifications: Education/Certification: • Bachelors degree from an accredited university • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned (preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills: • Knowledge of core academic subject assigned • General knowledge of curriculum and instruction • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties: • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process • Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits • Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities • Ability to work with students in small groups to reinforce classroom instruction • Assist classroom teacher in managing student behavior • Assist classroom teacher in developing student interventions • Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of student data • Attend planning sessions as needed
