70% Veterinary Technician
30% Practice Leadership
As the Co‑Practice Lead, you'll serve as the hospital's key connector and operational driver, helping to align team performance, patient care, and business success.
What You'll Do
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide high-quality patient care in a specialty ophthalmology setting
Assist DVMs with exams, procedures, and diagnostics
Perform:
IV catheter placement, venipuncture, and lab work
IV, IM, and SQ injections
Anesthesia monitoring and surgical support
Deliver exceptional client communication and education
Leadership & Operational Responsibilities
Serve as the go-to resource for team members, doctors, and leadership for questions, escalation, and conflict resolution
Coordinate and lead regularly scheduled staff meetings, including training and communication on standards of care and service
Provide mentorship and career development guidance to support team growth and retention
Partner with the corporate team on recruiting efforts, including scheduling and conducting on-site interviews
Conduct employee performance evaluations, including documentation and development planning
Lead coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and terminations when necessary
Drive accountability by helping the hospital achieve and maintain key performance benchmarks
Oversee inventory management, including supply levels, physical counts, and controlled drug protocols
Analyze hospital performance data and implement operational improvements

Qualifications
CVT/LVT/RVT required
5+ years of veterinary technician experience
3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
Strong technical skills in anesthesia monitoring, patient care, and diagnostics
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams
Experience with hiring, performance management, and employee relations
Ability to analyze data, manage priorities, and support operational goals
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable with financial reporting, KPIs, and P&L awareness
Ability to lift 40+ lbs with/without assistance
Flexibility to support occasional extended hours or emergencies
