Veterinary Technician | Emergency | 1st, 2nd and 3rd Shift Available | $22-30/hr + (Dependent On Experience) | Applicable Shift Differential | Mundelein, IL

Premier Veterinary Group, Mundelein is hiring a per diem Certified Veterinary Technician to support our high performing Emergency Department - Choose when you work... and when you don't! 

Schedule and Compensation:

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities available - Flexibility is needed
  • $22-30/hour or higher, depending on experience
  • $5/hr shift differential for overnights

Qualifications:
  • Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician preferred but all skill levels are encouraged to apply!
  • Several years’ experience of related job experience
  • Ability to work as a true Team Player and have a positive attitude in all situations
  • Self-Motivator: Ability to work efficiently and effectively, proactive with approach
  • Communicator: Successful communication is essential with all clients and stakeholders, considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of different people in different situations
  • Technical Credibility:  Understands and appropriately applies procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise. Understands linkages between department’s needs and the organization’s needs.
Responsibilities: 
  • Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit
  • Partnering with DVM’s in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Completing patient daily treatments in a timely manner at key treatment times
  • Assessing hospitalized patients, using intuitive skills as a technician 
  • Assisting with flow and organization of Emergency and Critical Care department
  • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates
  • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
  • Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
