Companion Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment — balancing exam room care, surgical support, and client communication at a moderate-to-high clinical level. We value credentialed technicians for the knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Splitting time between exam room, outpatient, and surgical caseload support
  • Performing radiology, phlebotomy, SQ injections, and laboratory sample collection
  • Assisting with surgical setup and patient preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
  • Monitoring inpatient care and supporting hospitalized patients throughout the day
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

  • Compensation: $23.00 – $30.00 per hour, for each hour worked
    • Based on skills and experience
  • Schedule: This is a full-time position, with a 4 x 10 schedule, Monday–Friday. No weekends and no on-call requirements.

Full-time Benefits Package*:

  • Bonus package: $2000 based on active, good-standing veterinary technician credentials in the state of Pennsylvania
  • CE allowance: $500-$1,000 based on tenure and credentials
  • Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance and disability
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • 401k with company match
  • Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law
  • Personal pet discount
  • Uniform allowance

*Part-time team members may be eligible for limited benefits in accordance with company policy and state law

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 1+ years of veterinary technician experience is required
  • Active, good-standing Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) license in Pennsylvania required
  • Recent graduates pending VTNE testing, or out-of-state license-holders eligible to transfer, are encouraged to apply
  • Proficiency in the following skills:
    • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
    • Surgical setup and assisting
    • Phlebotomy and SQ injections
    • Laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing
    • Inpatient care and monitoring
    • Safe, low-stress patient handling and restraint
    • Accurate medical record documentation
    • Client education and communication
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and effective teamwork
    • Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
