Certified Welder

BlackRock Resources is seeking a Certified Welder with structural welding and barge repair experience for a long-term contract opportunity in Westwego, LA.
Requirements:
- TWIC Card required
- AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Certification (or equivalent U.S. Coast Guard-approved certification)
- Experience with Stick (SMAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding
- Ability to weld in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
- Experience with structural welding, fabrication, and barge repair
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Responsibilities:
- Perform certified structural welding on barges and related repairs
- Complete air pressure testing and repair leaks as needed
- Maintain welding equipment and leads
- Assist fitters and work independently with minimal supervision
- Follow all safety and quality standards
Work Environment:
- Drydock/barge repair facility
- Confined spaces, underneath barges, and outdoor work
- Physically demanding role requiring lifting, climbing, kneeling, and standing throughout the shift
